Men's Group Register for Substance Use Disorders CE

New MEN’S GROUP Starting in July!

Starting a Men’s Group has been on my mind for a long time now and I am excited to finally get it off the ground! I have worked with male clients throughout my career at the VA, in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings, and have realized the extent to which men’s mental health is often overlooked.

Men’s feelings and experiences are something we are not often socialized to discuss and male vulnerability is not always seen as a positive. Difficulties may also manifest differently for men than even men know to expect, which is why I think this group is so important. It is intended to be a space for men to connect with other men, gain feedback, support, and engage on a deeper level about topics related to relationships, managing emotions, trauma, sex, anger, etc.

Unlike our skills groups (DBT and Relapse Prevention), this group will be open-ended and client-focused where topics and skills may emerge more organically through what group members bring up rather than through a set curriculum, making it more individualized to the dynamic of the group.

If you or anyone you know is interested, please see below for details and feel free to reach out to discuss further.
